Time to sell my GTA Le Mans I am afraid. I have got too many cars and I am spending too much money on them and not enough on the house, jobs are waiting for funds around the house, (A new kitchen first probably), so now I have to cull the toy collection, I am going to have to let two of the four toys go. So the Le Mans as it was last in is the first to go I’m afraid, pity because ever since I had started hanging about with you guys I had been hankering after one, still I have owned 03 for a year and a half so it’s nice to say I have owned one.
I am told that 03 is unusual amongst Le Mans as it has both leather seats and air conditioning. Additionally the below upgrades have been done:
• Catalytic convertor removed and a nice stainless steel exhaust system fitted, this sounds nice but is not too loud.
• Rear dampers have been replaced with Spax Kyrpton Gas filled coil over dampers.
• Brake discs have all been upgraded with grooved and drilled EBC discs
• Brake pads have recently been replaced with Ferodo Premier pads front and rear.
• Full set of Samco Silicone Hoses have been fitted, (see photos by following the link)
• A610 Rear Light clusters, (the originals I have though not in great condition are boxed and will come with the car).
• A610 Steering wheel
Other than this I believe the car is pretty much as standard.
The car comes with all of the glove box manuals and the Le Mans supplements, a large history file, (this has had the official nod of approval from Stephen Dell when he saw it), a workshop manual book, (not downloaded from the RAOC website), electrical workshop manual, (copy), parts book, and a box with a few sensors and switches as spares including a 502 ECU. “Private” registration number with a French theme “OUI” comes with the car at no extra cost. Also supplied with the car will be an outdoor car cover.
Now too the nitty gritty, this is not a concours condition car, it is more of a 7½ to 8 out of 10, (looks very nice at 4 paces), and the price does reflect that. Prior to buying the car I had Richard Walsh carry out a pre-purchase inspection of the vehicle and a very detailed and thorough report was posted to me, however he gave the car the above score whilst giving me an initial report over the phone. I have worked my way through as many of the faults as I could on this report steadily improving the car as I went and now only a few remain. The report is in the history file. Some welding is needed to the chassis front off-side but this is a small job and has been seen by John Law and Stephen Dell, I was going to have the work done by JL Engineering but he was not able to do it due to another over running job and the car is now on SORN etc.
After discussion with the club President Mr Dell, we have agreed what we both feel would be a fair and reasonable price. This price covers my initial purchase price and the repairs I have had done along the way, no profit as I will be happy to see the car go to an appreciative home.
The car is currently on a SORN awaiting a new owner or spring. If you are interested then please PM me for my mobile number and any questions you may have.
Remember please give generously this is to fund a new kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Price is £10,995 OVNO.
